WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins released the following statement upon the announcement that American armed forces had killed terrorist leader and al-Qaida founder Osama bin Laden:

“The death of Osama bin Laden is a significant victory in the War on Terror, and the men and women in our armed forces and our intelligence community deserve to be congratulated on a job well done. Osama bin Laden was the founder of al-Qaida and instrumental in the attacks against America on September 11, 2001, and his death marks the end of an important chapter in this war.”
