Congresswoman Jenkins on Possibility of Healthcare Law Exemption for Congress

WASHINGTON—Congresswoman Jenkins released the following statement today in response to discussions on whether members of Congress and their staff should be exempt from the president’s healthcare law:

“I believe all Americans should be exempted from the president’s costly and burdensome healthcare law, which is why I voted in the House to repeal and replace it with a more patient-focused alternative. The idea that only politicians and their staff would be exempted is simply wrong. We are all in this together. Congress should work to solve this problem for all Americans with full repeal of the law, but we cannot do this without the support of Washington Democrats.”
