WASHINGTON, D.C.–Today,at a press conference with Republican leaders, Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (KS-02) discussed her bill, the Simple Fairness Act, to provide relief and fairness to individuals and their families, just as the Administration keeps giving to businesses, by making the individual mandate penalty zero dollars for the remainder of the year.

Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins (KS-02):

“The opposition to the president’s healthcare law is hitting an all-time high. A recent poll showed last week that about 6 percent of Americans think the healthcare law is working and want to keep it intact.

“That is because a lot of people are finding out that they are losing the health insurance they liked, they are unable to see their doctors that they have been seeing for decades, their premiums are going up, and their personal data is on an insecure site.

“That’s why the president on a couple occasions has kicked the enforcement of the ObamaCare tax for employers back a year and in another case for two years.  We think this is unfair.  That’s why today we will take up on the House floor the Simple Fairness Act, which simply provides fairness for the hardworking Americans and gives them the same delay of the fee for one year.

“Whether it’s the first vote, or the 50th vote this is the right thing to do for the American people. We had about 22 Democrats join us the last time we had a similar bill up and we except more people to join us today.”
