Capps Announces Grant for Santa Maria Airport

Sep 26, 2014 Issues: Economy and Jobs

Santa Maria – Today, Rep. Lois Capps (CA-24) announced that the Santa Maria Airport received a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration for $199,450.

The grant will fund the design phase of the rehabilitation of the airport’s apron, the area where aircraft are parked, refueled, and boarded. This funding is needed to maintain the structural integrity of the runway pavement.

This federal grant will help make the Santa Maria Airport safer for the thousands of people who travel through it each year,” Capps said. “The Airport is critical to the Central Coast economy and I am pleased that this federal support has been awarded.”
