Senator Markey has consistently worked to insure veterans receive the benefits they so nobly earned in defense of our nation. Senator Markey strongly believes that we need to provide robust funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs to allow it to eliminate its current backlog of health benefits requests. He has supported efforts to modernize the agency and the VA facilities throughout Massachusetts. Senator Markey has worked to expand job-training programs for veterans and opportunities for veteran-owned small businesses. Senator Markey has fought to ensure that all of veterans gain access to services such as health care, education and additional services for those who have been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury.
