WASHINGTON, DC . . . As America prepares to honor our veterans by celebrating Veterans Day, Rep. Ralph Hall (TX-04) released the following statement:

            “On Veterans Day, we pause to honor all those who have fought and sacrificed for our country throughout our Nation’s history – and all those who are fighting today.  The freedom we enjoy is a result of their courage, commitment, and determination.  Our Nation owes them a debt of gratitude and respect that is eternal.

            “As we reflect on past wars and the challenges those have posed for America, we are mindful of current events and of our soldiers who are defending freedom throughout the world.  Recognizing the service of veterans is important, and we look forward to the day when our troops can come home honorably and safely.

            “I am honored to represent the Fourth District, and its more than 60,000 veterans – these men and women have made personal sacrifices in order to keep America safe and strong and are a valued part of our community.  History has shown that there can be no peace in the world without strength.  A strong defense is our best offense, but our greatest weapon is the power of prayer.  May God bless our veterans and their families.”
