Hall Continues Fight Against "ObamaCare"

WASHINGTON, DC . . . Today, Rep. Ralph Hall (TX-04)continued his fight against “ObamaCare” by voting in favor of H.R. 4118, the SIMPLE Fairness Act that delays the individual mandate for one year. The bill passed the House, 250-160.

“My opposition to ‘ObamaCare’ has been clear from Day One, and I have voted at every opportunity to repeal the President’s bad health care law,” said Hall. “It hurts families, hurts the sick, and hurts America’s already weak economy.

“Exactly as Republicans predicted, millions of Americans suddenly began receiving cancellation notices from their health care providers after the failed open exchange launch in November,” Hall continued. “The President can no longer hide behind his false promise ‘If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan. Period.’”

“The President apparently recognizes the growing backlash against his health care law, and this recognition is clear through his political maneuver today to jump in front of Republicans’ efforts to delay the individual mandate. The Administration will now, through no legal precedent, delay the individual mandate and allow health insurers to continue offering health plans that would otherwise be cancelled under ‘ObamaCare.’”

“The Administration’s continued delays do nothing but circumvent Congress, kick the law’s problems further down the road, and cause further economic uncertainty that hurts American families and businesses. Rest assured that I will continue to aggressively fight ‘ObamaCare’ until it is fully and permanently repealed.”
