WASHINGTON—Recently, Congressman Stockman introduced H.R. 4883, the National Rare-Earth Refinery Cooperative Act, in response to China’s growing monopoly on the rare-earth mineral industry. It is the House companion bill to S. 2006, which was introduced in the Senate by Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO). Since then, this legislation was referred to the Committee on Armed Services.
WASHINGTON -- Congressman Steve Stockman Thursday filed eight floor amendments to the 2015 Energy and Water Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill, which would block Obama administration environmental initiatives and protect homeowners.
WASHINGTON – Congressman Steve Stockman released the following statement Monday morning after the United States Supreme Court struck down an EPA plan to regulate carbon dioxide as an unconstitutional expansion of its authority:
The Supreme Court convicted Senate Democrats of conspiring to kill jobs.
The illegal EPA plan the Court struck down was supported and funded by Senate Democrats as part of their larger plan to downsize the economy. Senate Democrats were told Obama’s EPA scheme was unlawful and a job killer, and they funded it anyway.

This morning Barack Obama tossed American workers into the gears of Big Green’s destructive lobbying machine.
Obama’s order to power down the nation’s electric plants will jack up utility bills and kill jobs. It is so destructive he knew not even the Democrat Senate would pass it, so he simply made up his own law.
Only Congress has the authority to enact legislation. The President cannot declare himself his own personal Congress.
The House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs held an oversight hearing May 20 entitled “Oil and Gas Activities within Our Nation’s National Wildlife Refuge System.” This hearing highlighted the importance of oil and natural gas production occurring in America’s National Wildlife Refuge System and examined the potential effects of increased regulations. For the past five years, progress has stalled on the Keystone XL pipeline, which would transfer crude oil from Alberta, Canada to the Gulf Coast. In fact, this proposed pipeline would reach my district, creating job opportunities for my constituents. If built, Keystone XL would spur economic development, lower our nation’s energy costs, and give more Americans the opportunity to work in the energy sector.
Sold as legislation that would protect vulnerable species, the Endangered Species Act and other wildlife preservation laws are instead routinely abused by environmentalists as weapons against employers.
A favorite tactic is to use junk science and strong-arm tactics to get species that are not threatened or endangered listed as “threatened” or “endangered” to shut down agriculture, homebuilding, energy and timber development and other job-creating activities in targeted areas.
