Rep. Paulsen Statement on U.S. – South Korea Free Trade Agreement

Washington, D.C.Representative Erik Paulsen (MN-03) released the following statement in response to the announcement of an agreement for the U.S—South Korea trade pact:

“The announcement of a trade agreement with South Korea is a major victory for American industry,” said Rep. Paulsen. “This partnership is vital to our nation’s long-term economic growth and job creation. I commend U.S. and South Korean trade officials for reaching an agreement.”

“Over the past year, I’ve worked with my colleagues on the Congressional Korea-U.S. Free Trade Working Group to secure access to this important Asian export market. Although great strides have been made today, there is still work to be done and it is my sincerest hope that Congress takes swift action to approve this crucial agreement.”

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, is a member of the House Financial Services Committee, co-chair of the Congressional Korea-U.S. Free Trade Working Group and co-chair of the House Med Tech Caucus.
