Paulsen to Hold Medical Technology Field Hearing On Monday, October 19th

Eden Prairie, MN – Congressman Erik Paulsen, Co-Chair of the House Medical Technology Caucus, will hold a field hearing entitled “The Impact of the Medical Device Tax on Jobs, Innovation, Patients and the Cost of Health Care” at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 19th in Plymouth.  The hearing will take place in the council chambers at Plymouth City Hall and include testimony from several local representatives within the medical technology community.

The U.S. Senate Finance Committee recently passed health care legislation containing a $4 billion per year tax on medical device manufacturers.  Minnesota is among the top states nationally in both number of medical technology companies and industry jobs located in the state.
