Paulsen Statement on Murder of Israeli Teenagers

Washington, D.C.– Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) released the following statement regarding today’s announcement that three Israeli teenagers missing since June 12 were found dead northwest of Hebron. Last week, the Israel Security Agency identified two Hamas activists as key suspects in the kidnapping. One of the teenagers, Naftali Frankel, held dual U.S.-Israel citizenship.

“I am heartbroken to hear the tragic news that Naftali Fraenkel, Gil-ad Shaar, and Eyal Yifrach have been confirmed dead. My thoughts and prayers go out to their families during this painful time. It is difficult to find words that adequately describe the depravity of kidnapping and murdering innocent teenagers. The perpetrators of this barbaric and cowardly act must be found and brought to justice. The international community should demand cooperation from the Palestinian Authority to assist the Israeli government and find those responsible for this act of terror.”

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
