Paulsen Statement on Giffords Decision to Leave Congress

Eden Prairie, MN - Rep. Erik Pauslen (MN-03) released the following statement in response to the news that Rep. Gabby Giffords (AZ-08) will be stepping down from Congress this week.

"It's bittersweet to hear that my good friend and colleague has decided to step down from Congress,“ said Rep. Paulsen. “I first met Gabby and her future husband, Mark, in 2005 before either of us were elected to Congress. After being elected to Congress, I have had the privilege to get to know Gabby and Mark outside of the Capitol building and can attest to their high level of integrity and commitment to Arizona's 8th district, and our country. Arizonans are fortunate to have been represented by such a strong and courageous woman. I know this decision did not come easily, but I respect it and wish Gabby and her family all the best. I have a feeling this will not be the last we see of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords."
