Paulsen Statement on FBI Anti-Sex Trafficking Operation

Washington, D.C.– Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) released the following statement regarding the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announcement that the bureau had arrested 281 sex traffickers – including 9 in Minnesota – and rescued 168 victims:

“I applaud the work of the FBI, local and state law enforcement, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in successfully conducting a week-long operation to address commercial child sex trafficking.  While this operation was a success, it underscores the need for action to combat child sex trafficking. The House has passed five bipartisan bills to protect and help victims, go after both the pimps and the johns, and end international trafficking.

“We need the Senate to take action. These are children, and by working together with law enforcement and victims groups, we can save lives.”

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
