Washington, D.C. – The National Parks Conservation Association presented Representative Paulsen with the “National Parks Heritage” award for his continued work in preserving our nation’s natural heritage on Tuesday.

“Places like the historic Gettysburg National Military Parkare importantto our national identity. These historic sites and national parks are intertwined in who we are as a country, and where we come from as a people,” said Representative Paulsen. “Having worked in Yellowstone National Park after college, I recognize the importance of preserving America’s natural beauty and will continue to work to preserve such splendor for future generations.

Representative Paulsen and 34 of his colleagues were recognized for their votes in support of the National Park System.

“These members of Congress have demonstrated a solid commitment to trying to protect and improve our National Park System so that it can better represent the history and culture of our diversifying nation,” said Tom Kiernan, president of the National Parks Conservation Association. “As we look to the national parks centennial in 2016, support from our members of Congress will be essential for future generations to enjoy our national park legacy.”
