Paulsen Participates in Minnesota Military Family Tribute Groundbreaking

Washington, D.C.– Today, Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) participated in the groundbreaking of the Minnesota Military Family Tribute taking place at the State Capitol. The project was undertaken by the Minnesota Military Family Tribute Committee which spent two years raising over a million dollars to fund its construction. Joining Congressman Paulsen in speaking were Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton, Major General (Ret.) Larry Shellito, Major General (Ret.) Harry Sieben, and representatives from Gold Star Families, Ken and Julie Drevnick. The military family tribute is set to be dedicated in June, 2015.

“Behind our brave soldiers defending our freedom are countless mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, and children,” said Paulsen. “This tribute will serve as a testament to their often unseen sacrifices that help keep our country free. I applaud the hard work of everyone who made this project possible.”

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
