Art Competition

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district. High school students across central and northwest Connecticut submitted 125 works of art this year.

This year's winner was Olivia Bosson, a senior at Nonnewaug High School from Woodbury, for her painting, "Doll in Contrast." Her painting will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for the coming year alongside other winning pieces from students from all 50 states and the U.S. territories.

Congratulations to this year’s winner Olivia Bosson, this year's winner for her painting, "Doll in Contrast."
