NEW BRITAIN, CT- Today, Rep. Elizabeth Esty (CT-5) applauds a recent change to the Medicare Part D program that she advocated for after visiting a hospice patient in Waterbury.

In June, Rep. Esty visited the home of Bernice Johnson, a hospice patient with VITAS Innovative Hospice Care in Waterbury. During the visit, VITAS employees expressed their concerns with new Medicare Part D policy guidelines. The confusing change left many patients without the medications they so desperately needed during their end-of-life care.
