Congressman John Garamendi Highlights Savings for Seniors With No Increase in Medicare Part B Premium for Two Straight Years

There is good news for America’s seniors, many of whom live on a fixed income. For the second year in a row, there will be no increase in the Medicare Part B premium or deductible. Also, because of the ACA, 8.3 million seniors have saved $12 billio on their prescription drugs and 37 million seniors received free preventative care in 2013 alone.

At North Bay Stand Down in Dixon, Congressman Garamendi Vows to Continue Supporting Veterans

Garamendi visited with veterans and veteran support organizations at the North Bay Stand Down for lower income and homeless veterans in Dixon. Garamendi’s veteran casework staff were also on hand to help veterans who are having ongoing issues with the Veterans Administration and other federal agencies. This year alone, his office has secured more than $3.5 million in earned benefits for veterans facing unacceptable bureaucratic delays.

Garamendi Statement on the Government Shutdown

Instead of listening to Republican Senators and Governors, conservative newspapers, and business groups, House House Republican Leadership has thus far decided to listen to the Tea Party faction in Congress, which is dedicated to and even celebrating a government shutdown.
