Consumer Protection

Contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for all of your financial product and service complaints. The Bureau accepts consumer complaints on a variety of financial products and services- including mortgages, student loans, and credit cards- through its toll-free number, website as well as mail and fax. Consumer response specialists review all incoming complaints, forward complaints to the appropriate company for review and resolution, and work to ensure that complaints are handled appropriately.

In addition to consumer complaints, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau offers tools like “Paying for College” module on making sound financial decisions about higher education, and “AskCFPB,” which is an interactive, user-friendly database of over 900 plain-language answers to common consumer financial questions.
