I am committed to ending the borrow and spend cycle that has gone on for too long in Washington.
On President Obama’s watch our nation is $17.5 trillion in debt and out-of-control Washington spending has no end in sight. This immoral debt threatens the nation that we leave behind for our children and grandchildren. I am committed to balancing our budget and ending the borrow-and-spend cycle that has gone on for too long in Washington.
In Congress, I proudly cosponsored a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and co-authored the House Republicans’ “Path to Prosperity” budget for Fiscal Year 2015. Our budget cuts federal spending by $5.1 trillion, fully repeals Obamacare, and balances within ten years without raising taxes.
Where President Obama has failed to address our nation’s mounting debt and deficits, Congress must stand in the gap and work to rein in spending, cut waste, and tackle the unsustainable growth of key entitlement programs that pose our government’s greatest fiscal challenge. We must return our nation to a point of fiscal solvency for the future of our children and grandchildren.
