Rep. Pallone Jr. Introduces Bill to Extend and Improve CHIP

WASHINGTON, Aug. 7 -- Rep. Frank Pallone Jr., D-N.J., has introduced legislation (H.R. 5364) to "amend title XXI of the Social Security Act to extend and improve the Children's Health Insurance Program."

The bill was introduced on July 31 and has 11 co-sponsors. Co-sponsors include Reps. Henry A. Waxman, D-Calif., Janice D. Schakowsky, D-Ill., Kathy Castor, D-Fla., Lois Capps, D-Calif., Donna Christensen, D-V.I., Gene Green, D-Texas, John D. Dingell, D-Mich., G.K. Butterfield, D-N.C., John Sarbanes, D-Md., Eliot L. Engel, D-N.Y., and Jim Matheson, D-Utah.

The legislation was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee and House Ways and Means Committee.
