“This month, we are committed to using our collective voices to bring awareness to a disease that affects more than 1.5 million Americans -- and more than 100,000 Texans. Lupus is infamously known as the ‘cruel mystery’ because there is no known cause and few treatments exist for this destructive disease.

(Dallas, TX) – Today, Ranking Member Eddie Bernice Johnson of the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology held a panel discussion on climate change at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The event, titled “A Panel Discussion on Climate Change: How Climate Change Affects Texas and How Texas Can Adapt and Prosper”, included experts from industry, academia, and government.

Since 2003, University of Texas at Dallas has held the Eddie Bernice Johnson Math and Science Lecture Series in an effort to expose Dallas-area high school students to the best and brightest minds in the mathematics and science fields. This year’s scientist will be Dr. Roosevelt Johnson of NASA.
