Flags at Half-Staff for Peace Officers Memorial Day

Continuing a tradition that dates back to 1962, Speaker Boehner ordered flags over the U.S. Capitol lowered to half-staff in honor of National Peace Officers Memorial Day. There are only two days each year when the flag is scheduled to be lowered to half-staff. One is Memorial Day. The other is today, when we honor federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty. Read More
