Foreign Policy & National Defense

soldier in silouhette

I am honored to serve on the Oversight & Government Reform Committee’s Subcommittee on National Security, which is responsible for overseeing the Departments of State, Defense, Homeland Security, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Protecting the hard-working men and women who serve on the front lines of America’s foreign policy and defense efforts is a responsibility I take seriously.  America’s global image and national security directly affect every one of us. I’m committed to ensuring that our military and diplomatic servants have the best resources available to enhance America’s relationships with our international partners in order to successfully defend our nation’s core values.

In navigating our dynamic, global society, we must incorporate a balance of diplomacy and economic and military measures  to ensure America’s stability and security, while maintaining a commitment to our values of freedom, democracy and human rights.

For more information concerning my work and views on National Security issues, please contact me.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you.
