Congresswoman Robin Kelly to Host Job Search Boot Camps

Congresswoman Robin Kelly will host a series of four Job Search Boot Camps to teach job-seekers interview skills, how to prepare a resume, and strategies to successfully navigate hiring events. The free, one-hour workshops will help prepare job-seekers for Rep. Kelly’s 2nd annual Hiring Event on Friday, October 24, from 9 to noon, in the gymnasium of South Suburban College, 15800 State St., South Holland. Registration for the workshops is required at www.reprobinkelly.eventbrite.com. Early sign-up is encouraged; space is limited to 50 participants per class.

The first boot camp or workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, from 6 to 7 p.m., at Pilgrim Baptist Church of South Chicago, lower level, 3235 E. 91st St., Chicago. A second workshop is set for Thursday, October 16, from 6 to 7 p.m., at South Suburban College, Heritage Conference Room, accessed through the Main Student Entrance, 15800 State St., South Holland.

Another workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, October 21, from 6 to 7 p.m., at Governors State University, Cafeteria Annex, 1 University Parkway, University Park. The final workshop is set for Thursday, October 23, from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Chicago Urban League, 4510 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago. For more information, please call 708-679-0078.
