Hartselle Enquirer | Halbrooks asks Aderholt to support legislation impacting funeral business

Halbrooks asks Aderholt to support legislation impacting funeral business
Hartselle Enquirer | April 17, 2013

Geoff Halbrooks of Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle recently spent time in Washington, D.C., attending the 2013 National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Advocacy Summit.

The Summit, which was held March 5-7, brought together NFDA members from throughout the country to meet face-to-face with members of Congress to discuss issues of critical importance to funeral service. By participating in this event, Halbrooks is taking a proactive approach in advancing legislation that helps protect funeral consumers and benefits the community he serves.

“The November 2012 elections brought more than 80 new members of Congress to our nation’s capitol and several pieces of legislation that our new and incumbent senators and representatives will work on have a direct impact on funeral service,” said Halbrooks. “Our funeral home staff has an unwavering commitment to the families we serve and our profession. I was proud to have the opportunity to meet with Senators and Representatives and their staffs to help them understand some of the key issues impacting funeral consumers and my profession.”

Halbrooks discussed several issues with his congressional representatives. He serves as the vice president of the Alabma Funeral Directors Association.
