Pittenger: Sgt. White "a true American hero"

CONGRESSMAN PITTENGER:  SGT. KYLE WHITE “A TRUE AMERICAN HERO”

DOHA, Qatar – Today, Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09) had these remarks following the White House Medal of Honor ceremony for Charlotte’s Sergeant Kyle White (U.S. Army, Ret.):

“Sgt. White’s remarkable courage in the face of overwhelming adversity should make us all proud to be Americans.  We owe our freedom and way of life to men and women like Sgt. White, who selflessly serve their country and willingly risk their lives on our behalf.

“Thank you, Sgt. White, for your service above and beyond the call of duty, and thank you for your continued service to help veterans in our community overcome PTSD and other challenges.

“You are a true American hero.”

Congressman Pittenger is currently in Qatar, participating in a conference on increasing democracy in the Middle East and meeting with foreign leaders to discuss counter-terrorism efforts.
