CONGRESSMAN PITTENGER TO HONOR CHARLOTTE’S 145TH AIRLIFT WING DURING SPECIAL DEPLOYMENT CEREMONY

WASHINGTON – Locally-based heroes of the North Carolina Air National Guard will begin deploying for Operation Enduring Freedom on Wednesday, June 25th.  Congressman Robert Pittenger plans to return from Washington in time to honor their sacrifice and commitment at a special deployment ceremony.

“Our brave men and women in uniform are honorable patriots whom we should teach our children to respect and admire,” said Congressman Pittenger (NC-09).  “These airmen are our neighbors, the parents of students our kids go to school with, and colleagues we interact with in the business world.

“They have volunteered to risk their lives to protect our freedom.

“Please join Suzanne and me in praying for their safe return, and in thanking the airmen and their families for their service.”

Approximately 100 members of the North Carolina Air National Guard’s 145th Airlift Wing, based at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, will deploy on Wednesday and Thursday.

Media planning to cover Wednesday’s deployment ceremony must arrive at the front gate of the Charlotte Air National Guard Base (4930 Minuteman Way) no later than 8:30 a.m.
