Price Statement on Passage of NDAA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom Price, M.D. (GA-06) responded to the successful passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2015 by the House of Representatives today, saying:

“The House of Representatives has acted on our commitment to ensure the men and women of our military have the best equipment, our full support on and off the battlefield, and every resource that is necessary to complete their missions. Government’s obligation to provide for the common defense coupled with America's unique leadership role in the world necessitates that we maintain a military not just capable of defeating our enemies but of deterring conflict.

“This NDAA adheres to the levels of spending outlined in the House-passed budget – an acknowledgment that we have to work within our nation’s fiscal reality. As we move one step closer to achieving a fifty-third consecutive defense authorization, we must continue to provide for our armed services in a way that reflects the national security needs of our nation and the courage of those putting their lives on the line to protect and defend it.”

Congressman Tom Price, M.D., is the vice chairman of the House Committee on the Budget. He is also a member of the House Committee on Ways and Means, as well as the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. An orthopaedic surgeon, he spent more than 20 years caring for patients in the metro Atlanta area.
