Internships

In our office, we pride ourselves on allowing interns not only a broad exposure and training for the needs of a congressional office, but we also encourage interns to pursue tasks and issue areas that interest them.

Interns in our office have many responsibilities and are a vital part of our team. Interns’ responsibilities can vary from day to day including engaging directly with constituents while leading tours through the U.S. Capitol Building, answering questions from the constituents, or assisting in the composition of response letters.

Interns are also given the opportunity to learn more about policy and issues which affect our nation every day. Interns may attend policy briefings, congressional hearing, and often times, official congressional events such as joint sessions.

This is a unique opportunity for any student who may be interested in various elements of the legislative process and politics from policy to communications.

All intern applicants are required to submit the following information:

  • Resume
  • Cover Letter
  • Transcripts
  • References (2)
  • Academic Writing Sample
