Tax Reform

It is clear that our current tax code is in dire need of a massive overhaul. Congress needs to pass tax reform that is simple, lowers tax rates for all Americans, and prevents evasion and unfair manipulation. We can amend our tax code so that it results in lower rates, and encourages investments, savings, and job creation.

Actions

• I introduced the Tax Code Termination Act (H.R. 352), which would abolish the Internal Revenue Code by December 31, 2017 and require Congress to approve a new federal tax system by July of the same year.

• I am a member of the Death Tax Caucus and Zero Capital Gains Tax Caucus.

I am a cosponsor of several tax related bills, including:

• H.R. 2429, the Death Tax Repeal Act 

• H.R. 38, the Seniors' Tax Simplification Act 

• H.R. 495, the Free File Program Act

• H.R. 2992, The Business Activity Tax Simplification Act
