Boustany Votes to Delay Both Employer and Individual Mandates

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement after voting to delay the employer and individual mandates, two key provisions (H.R. 2667 and H.R. 2668) of Obamacare aimed at hurting small businesses and American workers:

“Obamacare is massively flawed and needs to be repealed and replaced with sensible reforms. Provisions like the employer mandate will force many American workers to see a drop in the number of hours they work. American job creators will be forced to hold off on hiring. Individuals, families, and businesses all deserve relief from Obamacare. These pieces of legislation address two fundamental fallacies within Obamacare.

“The employer mandate needs to be fully repealed. That’s exactly why I introduced legislation to repeal it with H.R. 903. I welcome the delay but won’t be satisfied until we get full repeal.”

Congressman Boustany spoke on the House floor against the employer mandate of Obamacare.

Recently, two of Boustany’s accomplishments were highlighted (#1 and #3) as defeats to Obamacare. Legislation torepeal the CLASS Act and to repeal the employer mandate (H.R. 903) were both introduced by Congressman Boustany.
