Boustany Stands Strong Against Obamacare Yet Again

(Washington, DC) – Congressman Charles W. Boustany, Jr., M.D., (R-South Louisiana) issued the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 2009, the Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act, earlier today:

“Today’s vote marked my 40th vote against Obamacare. The Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act removes the IRS from any role in the implementation of Obamacare. Given the recent revelations surrounding the ineptitude of the IRS, it should not be anywhere near people’s medical decisions. By allowing the IRS to enforce Obamacare through the individual and employer mandates, Washington Democrats are asking for more abuse, targeting, and harassment of Americans. With the last vote before the August recess, I am proud to stand strong with constituents in South Louisiana’s Third Congressional District against Obamacare.”

This week, the acting Internal Revenue Service chief, Daniel Werfel, told House Ways and Means Committee Members he would rather keep his federal health benefits than enroll in Obamacare.
