Washington, D.C. - To mark the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from September 15 - October 15, U.S. Rep. Gary Peters issued the following statement:

“Hispanic Heritage Month is a time when all Americans pause to recognize the countless ways Hispanic Americans have contributed to our nation's cultural fabric. As one of the fastest growing ethnic groups in America, Hispanics are making a positive difference in our society as they work to achieve the American Dream. As Americans, our diversity is what makes us strong and I'm proud to celebrate this important occasion."
