Washington, D.C. - Today following Governor Rick Snyder's proposal to create a regional high speed bus network connecting Detroit with the suburbs, Rep. Gary Peters issued the following statement:

“In these tough economic times, families in the greater Detroit area need access to reliable mass transit to find and maintain a job,” said Congressman Gary Peters. “The lack of an effective regional transit system is holding back the economy of our region and our state. I urge regional leaders to come together on a bipartisan basis to ensure we can find a way to fund important public transit projects like this one in a way that is fair, and can obtain voter approval.”
