According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report released this morning, the economy added only 113,000 jobs last month, lower than what economists expected. The unemployment rate saw little change at 6.6% and the number of Americans actually participating in the workforce remains at its lowest since the 1970s.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics jobs report released this morning disappointed expectations by adding only 74,000 jobs to the economy last month, despite predictions that nearly 200,000 would be added. While, the U.S. unemployment rate saw a slight decline to 6.7%, the number of Americans actually participating in the workforce declined from last month and is at its lowest since 1978.
