Kilili: Immigration policy is always difficult

Congressman Sablan said that he remains committed to getting Congress to extend the E-2 CNMI investor visa and the exemption from the cap on H visas for the Northern Mariana Islands. "And I have been able to get several bills close to the legislative finish line, notably S. 1237 and H.R. 83, which passed the Senate last Thursday. But anything to do with immigration can be very contentious, and sometimes one person can block passage of a bill."

Kilili responds to Presidential order on Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument

Congressman Sablan applauded President Obama for setting aside new areas of the Pacific for conservation and traditional use, while leaving areas open that are important to the commercial fishing industry in Hawai'i and American Samoa. "Protecting some areas of the Pacific Ocean from modern commercial activities, while allowing traditional uses to continue, protects the culture and heritage of island people," Congressman Kilili said.

$188,706 Affordable Care Act grant for Kagman Community Health Center

The Kagman Community Health Center will be able to keep serving the nearby areas including Kagman, Papago, San Vicente, Fina Sisu, Dan Dan, Obyan, and As Terlaje, using a $188,706 grant from the Affordable Care Act.
