Congresswoman Beatty Statement on the 70th Anniversary of D-Day

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Congresswoman Beatty (OH-03) released the following statement today in recognition of D-Day:

“Seventy years ago, more than one hundred thousand courageous Americans and their allies attacked coastal France and stormed the beaches of Normandy. June 6, 1944 provided the Allied forces a foothold to liberate Europe and marked a turning point in World War II. The success of D-Day remains a pivotal moment in European and American history.

“Today, we honor the memory and service of all those who fought for freedom on D-Day. We are forever indebted to the brave Americans who went to battle on D-Day and all those who have served and are currently serving our country. As we remember those who fought so valiantly, we rededicate ourselves to ensuring that our service members, veterans, their families, and their survivors get the care and services they need and deserve.”
