Washington, DC– Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) today issued the following statement thanking Rep. John Dingell, the longest serving member of the House of Representatives for his distinguished service on behalf of America:

"Congressman John Dingell has represented Michigan and America since 1955 with distinction and honor. While we may not always have seen eye to eye on how to solve problems, Dingell has always been willing to work with his colleagues to find meaningful solutions. His service on behalf of America is unmatched. It has been a privilege to work with him on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Congress and America are losing a true public servant. I have and will always use his request of witnesses to answer his questions with a simple "yes" or "no" to force them to take a direct, public stance on  issues his constituents care about.  I wish him fair winds and following seas in the next phase of his life."
