SUGAR LAND, TX– Rep. Pete Olson (TX-22) recently held an in-office event to honor the students from the Twenty-Second Congressional District of Texas who received appointments to America's military academies. Olson presented each academy appointee with a proclamation congratulating them on their appointment and spoke with them about the importance of serving as an officer in the United States Armed Forces. A total of 10 academy appointees were selected from TX-22. The appointments were offered by the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Military Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy.

"These students who received appointments to our nation’s prestigious military academies are some of the best and brightest students in America," Rep. Pete Olson said. "They bring enormous pride to our communities. It's an honor to recognize those who have committed to protect and defend our nation through service in our military academies. As a former Navy pilot, I'm thrilled to congratulate these young leaders. I'm confident they will honorably serve our nation with pride and distinction."
