Dear
Friend,
For
too
long,
burdensome
bureaucracy
has
made
it
difficult
to
start
a
business
and
get
it
moving.
As
part
of
my plan
to
create
jobs
and
grow
the
economy
in
San
Diego
and
across
the
country,
I
am
working
to
cut
useless
regulations
so
that
our
entrepreneurs
can
bring
their
ideas
to
fruition.
Below
is
an
update
on
that
effort,
as
well
as
information
about
one
of
my
efforts
to
hold
Congress
accountable,
my
visits
to
local
senior
centers,
and
a
reminder
of
the
coming
deadline
for
Service
Academy
nominations.
Cutting
Red
Tape
for
Start
Ups
Making
it
easier
for
San
Diego's
entrepreneurs
and
innovators
to
start
a
new
venture
is
essential
to
our
economic
success.
I
recently
introduced
legislation
that
allows
start
ups
or
new
businesses
with
less
than
$1
million
in
revenue
to
file
federal
taxes
annually
instead
of
every
quarter
as
is
required
by
current
law.

Holding
Congress
Accountable
Right
now
there
are
Members
of
Congress
who
receive
subsidies
for
their
crop
insurance
premiums
from
the
federal
government.
While
many
farmers
across
the
country
get
a
similar
subsidy,
this
is
a
program
that
is
voted
on
in
Congress
-
essentially
members
are
voting
on
legislation
that
has
a
specific
personal
financial
impact.
To
make
matters
worse,
it
isn't
public
information
who
receives
this
subsidy.
I
introduced
legislation
that
requires
Congressmembers
to
disclose
if
they
receive
this
subsidy
to
increase
transparency
on
this
process.
Hearing
from
Local
Seniors
Over
the
last
few
weeks
I
have
visited
a
number
of
Senior
Centers
to
hear
from
residents
and
discuss
my
work
to
ensure
that
Social
Security
and
Medicare
are
protected
both
for
current
retirees
and
for
future
generations.
If
I
haven't
been
to
your
senior
center
yet,
let
me
know
HERE.
