Congressman Roger Williams

Representing the 25th District of Texas

Service Academy Nominations

2015 Academy Nominations Process

Thank you for contacting me about a nomination to one of our nation's service academies. Although I am able to make only a few nominations each year, those decisions are among the most important and difficult I make as your United States Congressman. Because of the limited number of nominations each Member of Congress has, I encourage you to also contact Senator Cornyn and Senator Cruz about their nomination process. To be sure that I am your congressman, please visit http://www.fyi.legis.state.tx.us/ to determine if you reside within Congressional District 25.

Service Academy Applicants must be:
- U.S. Citizens
- Legal Residents of the 25th Congressional District of Texas
- At least 17 years of age, but not yet 23 years of age by July 1 of the year of admission
- Unmarried with no dependents
- By law, graduates of the service academies are appointed to active duty as commissioned officers and serve in the appropriate branch of the military for a minimum of five years

DEADLINE: OCTOBER 17, 2014

To apply for a nomination from Congressman Williams, first please print and complete the Service Academy nomination form and send to our Austin office at:

1005 Congress Avenue, Suite 925, Austin, Texas 78701

 or email to TX25.Academy@mail.house.gov.

After our office receives your request, you will be sent an application packet by mail or email. In this packet you will find: general information and checklist, application forms, and two evaluation forms.

When you are finished completing the application packet, please send back to our Austin office, by mail or email (excluding transcripts--these must be mailed so that they remain official), so that the Academy Nominations Coordinator may prepare your file to be seen by the Academy Selection Board.
