McCarthy Sends Letter to President Urging Support for Increasing U.S. Exports
Washington D.C. - This week, Congressman Kevin McCarthy joined his colleagues in sending a letter to President Obama in support of the President's goal to double U.S. exports over the next five years, which is projected to create 2 million U.S. jobs. Congressman McCarthy issued the following statement.
"Our local and state unemployment numbers could be positively affected by increasing exports of our local products. California desperately needs jobs, and countries around the world are ready to open their markets to our exports. Right now Congress is sitting on three free trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama as national unemployment remains above 9 percent. It is my hope that Democratic Leaders will make passing these agreements a priority. Hard-working Americans need jobs right now, and this is one solution we can work together on to help create jobs and get our economy back on track."
