McCarthy: America Must Continue To Support Israel

Washington D.C. – Congressman Kevin McCarthy released the following statement in support of the commitment of the United States government to the US-Israeli partnership.  

"It was a privilege to have Prime Minister Netanyahu address a joint session of Congress today.  It served as a reminder of the strength and closeness of our friendship with Israel. Bound by a common belief in the principles of freedom and democracy, our partnership with Israel has spanned six decades, through twelve American Presidents and twelve Israeli Prime Ministers. Israel is a critical ally and a model of democratic government in an unstable region. Because of this, they are the target of regular attacks by radical Islamic terrorist organizations. Israel lives under constant threat - advocating for the implementation of 1967 borders puts the country in an indefensible position and limits their ability to properly defend their people. We cannot allow for that.

"Throughout our history, the United States has always come to the aid and defense of our allies, and we will do so for Israel. The United States remains committed to the security of the Israeli people, and we will continue to work tirelessly alongside the State of Israel to bring peace and stability to that region of the world."
