Ellmers Statement on Proposed Congressional District Map

DUNN, NC – Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement from her district office this afternoon:

"This afternoon, the North Carolina General Assembly released a new proposal for changes to the U.S. Congressional districts in North Carolina based off the 2010 Census. The General Assembly took great care to ensure that the new districts are fair and legal and accurately reflect the changes in our state based off the census findings. I was elected by and continue to serve the district that our current maps represent and have been honored to serve each and every one of my constituents."

"While I am sad to see different areas lost as a consequence of the new map, I am also excited to bring my service and dedication to the new constituents that may be added to it. These changes will still have to be voted on and regardless of the results, I will continue to fight for North Carolina and all of its citizens, while working to bring jobs and prosperity back to our state."
