Ellmers Statement on Independence Day
July 4 2011DUNN, NC – Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement this morning from her district office in Dunn:
"As we spend time with our friends and family this Independence Day weekend, I wanted to take the time to reflect on the legacy of our founding fathers and the freedom that has united our nation throughout our history. America was founded both as a refuge from tyranny and oppression and as a model for opportunities open to all who are willing to work toward a better life. I am happy to continue in that great tradition and will never forget the brave men and women who have fought and died to preserve it for over 235 years. I wish all Americans a safe and happy Independence Day weekend and may God continue to bless the United States of America."
