Ellmers Hosts Event to Help Businesses in Fayetteville

Over 100 Local Business Leaders Attend Seminar to Learn Best Practices for

Doing Business with the Federal Government

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement regarding her "Doing Business with the Federal Government" event in Fayetteville yesterday:

"I'm thrilled to report that yesterday's event in Fayetteville was a great success for our local businesses and the defense industry. Sequestration has been painful, but the federal government is still doing a substantial amount of business. The problem is that many small businesses don't know how the process works, who to contact, and how to navigate the bureaucracy. That's why yesterday's event was so important - it cuts through these barriers and simplifies the process."

"Fort Bragg and its surrounding businesses are so vitally important to our district and the state - ranking second only to agriculture in North Carolina. We need to do everything we can to get our economy moving and this is just the latest of many events we will host in the district."

On Tuesday, Congresswoman Ellmers hosted a "Doing Business with the Federal Government" seminar at the Crown Center Coliseum in Fayetteville. Representatives from many agencies within the federal government were on hand to explain the process of securing a government contract and best practices for helping their businesses grow. Government agency representation included officials from the Army, GSA, Small Business Administration and others. Over 100 business leaders from the defense, healthcare, hospitality, IT, manufacturing and professional services industries were in attendance.
