Congresswoman Ellmers Statement on Memorial Day
June 1 2011DUNN, NC – Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement from her district office this afternoon:
"As we spend time with our friends and family this Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to take the time to reflect on the generations of heroes that fought and died for the freedoms we enjoy today. Each generation faces its own struggle for freedom throughout the world and our military men and women have never failed to answer this call. We must continue to honor that selfless bravery and noble sacrifice - these are the real American heroes."
"As Americans, we are blessed to live in a country where young men and women would offer their own lives in order to protect the freedom of millions of their fellow citizens. Let us take the time to reflect on the families and loved ones they left behind who share in their honor and sacrifice. We must never forget and live each day as a tribute to their bravery while continuing to protect the freedoms they fought to maintain for future generations. May God bless our troops and continue to bless our great nation."
