Congresswoman Ellmers Announces the Appointment of Matthew Glenn Pope to West Point
January 26 2012DUNN, North Carolina – Congresswoman Renee Ellmers released the following statement from her office in Dunn this afternoon:
"I'm proud to announce today that Matthew Glenn Pope has received a full appointment to the United States Military Academy for the class starting July 2012. Matthew's impressive academic background and extracurricular activities serve as a model to carry on West Point's rich traditions and will make North Carolina proud. I look forward to following his progress and congratulate him and his family on this important achievement."
This afternoon, Congresswoman Renee Ellmers was pleased to announce that Matthew Glenn Pope of Nashville, NC has received a fully qualified offer of appointment to attend the United States Military Academy for the class starting July 2012.
Matthew Pope is the son of Tim and Angela Pope of Nashville, NC and formally of Kenly, NC. He is the grandson of Jean Bass and the late Roy Pope of Kenly, NC and the grandson of Glenda Peedin and the late Randy Peedin of Pine Level, NC.
Matthew is currently a student at Nash Central High School in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
