The Seventh Congressional District of Washington is in the northwest corner of this Northwest state, nestled among mountains, forests, and waterways.  The District encompasses much of Seattle as well as Vashon Island and portions of Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Edmonds, Mountlake Terrace, Burien and Normandy Park.

Largely an urban District, the Seventh is home to information technology, aviation, architecture, and recreational industries. This dynamic District includes the University of Washington, a major teaching and research institution, and offers a vibrant arts community of national stature.  It is particularly known for "green" technology and other advanced technologies, diverse economic sectors such as agriculture, services, manufacturing, global health innovation, and international trade, superior education and health services and overall high quality of life.

The largest city in the Seventh District is Seattle, the Northern-most major city on the West Coast of the United States.  It is situated on an isthmus between Puget Sound and Lake Washington, about 100 miles south of the Canada – United States border; it is named after Chief Seattle of the Duwamish and Suquamish tribes. Seattle was a logging and fishing town more than a hundred years ago, but now is better known as the home of Microsoft, Boeing, Amazon.com and Starbucks.
